Third Floor Sound
A brand voice built to work at both extremes that matter to a Brixton studio: a billboard on the high street, and a flyer someone actually keeps.
01The brief
A Brixton artist-management company with its own two studios and a performance space. The category defaults (gear lists, moody desk photos, analogue nostalgia) say nothing about being heard, so the brand argues one thing instead: this is where you get to say it.
02Identity
Three shapes, one per floor, stacked into a single mark. Magenta carries the campaign; the acid green is held back for the radio station and event work, so a second strand exists without a second brand. Never both at once.
03Out of home
Three lines, one colour, no explanation of what the company does. The mark repeats behind the type as pattern: texture from across a junction, structure up close.
04Print
How a studio like this actually recruits: a flyer in a record shop, a poster in the live room, a brochure handed over at the end of a session. Photography is duotoned into the magenta so the client can shoot its own content between bookings.
05Signage
Black on magenta, mark and wordmark locked as one rectangle, sized for the opposite pavement. No strapline: the building is the strapline.
One magenta, one grotesque, one duotone treatment, and a way of writing sentences, shallow enough that the client can keep making things without me. Next piece is audio: a station needs an ident, and this identity is currently only visible.
